I will never buy their “well & good” shampoo ever again! I usually buy my pup chi from pet smart and it is wonderful. We took him to petco for his birthday. Got some shampoo while I was there. A week after his bath, HE HAS DANDRUFF. I didn’t even know dog dandruff was a thing! We even used the oatmeal formula. Not to mention, he is a German shepherd husky, and yes he sheds a lot. I just drove 20 minutes ONE way to have the grooming manager at your Hagerstown MD location tell me she's not certified to trim nails, and that their grooming salon closes at 4 now because they're understaffed. They offered me a 20% off a $10 nail trim(Whoopdeedoo) for my troubles. This is absolute bullshit. I will NEVER shop there again, and I will take my three dogs and my business elsewhere. I'll make sure all my friends and family follow suit. #PetcoWhereMyPetsWontGo
Poor quality fish keeping. If I could rate half a star I would. They sold fish with severe swim bladder and mislabled breeds of fish.
Every time I go in this store there is an issue with my rewards. "They aren't loaded to your card" they say. I specifically wait on the computer for the confirmation to come up to read "LOADED". So ONE time someone took the time to help me and call into them to help me; so I thought...then I stopped receiving the emails to update me and alert me if my rewards earned. I missed out on 11, yes ELEVEN $5 reward coupons = a free bag of dog food for me! Then I decided to go online and do repeat delivery...UGH...that is even worse!... read more
A lot of overpriced items... One example would be that you can get the flea medicine they have for half the price on Amazon. They don't seem very educated on animals either. The tank they recommended my boyfriend get for a ball python was horrible! It was sooo tiny and was taller rather than longer. I can't believe they would let someone leave with such a tinky tank.. It wasn't even as big as a ten gallon.
I would like to thank the Petco in Hagerstown for being so helpful. I have shopped there since they opened and I just rescued a dog. When we walked in my new dog was greeted by two staff. They were very understand that she was timid. They talked with me and my boyfriend and babied out dog. It made her feel more comfortable in the store. They gave me some coupons and I felt very welcomed. I have ferrets and I'm usually in and out of that store but the other day was the best service I ever had. My new dog left so happy.
