This is a WARNING to anyone who is considering doing business with Persian Galleries, Max Kashani or any of his associates. Unfortunately, I did not adequately inform myself before I began shopping for rugs 5 years ago and I am currently suffering the consequences. We recently moved to a smaller home and needed to trade the rugs bought from Persian Galleries for different sizes. Had we continued doing business with Persian Galleries, we would never have learned the truth about the lengths they go to to fleece their customers. We were shocked to learn that the value of our rugs was far less than what we had paid for them. I spoke with dealers in different states about the rugs I had purchased. This is what we found out. The rugs we had been sold were genuine and the descriptions of them authentic. However, to say they were overpriced is an understatement. The reaction of the first dealer after I described to him the rugs and what I had paid for them was total disbelief. "Are these rugs made of gold?" was his first question. The second dealer actually saw the rugs, the certificates of authenticity and the receipts. His reaction: "I feel as though I could throw up. These people should be reported and put out of business!!" The most expensive rug in his shop, which was partly made of silk, was the only one that was close to the price we had paid for some of our rugs. Then to add insult to injury, we learned that the pads we received from Persian Gallery to put under these so called "fine" Persian rugs were the cheapest quality and would do the least to protect hardwood floors! It is truly hard for me to understand how these people can sleep at night knowing that they daily are deceiving and robbing customers who have placed their trust in them. We lost a lot of money to these swindlers which we will never recover. I can only hope that my experience will be a warning to anyone that may be considering doing business with them and that you will run as fast as you can to escape from being taken in and losing your money to them. DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THEIR POLITE WORDS AND CHARM! THEY ARE SNAKES AND THEIR RUGS ARE SO OVERPRICED THAT IT IS CRIMINAL! Kay Alford Florence,SC
