I normally take my wife's car for oil change at Salem location, they always do great job EXCEPT last night. I took her car in for oil change at 7pm which i was the last car i believe, I don't what happened but the NEVER put the cap back on engine after refilling oil. My wife drove the car to babysitter house to drop our four month old son off and she was complaining about gas fumes. I bought a five years alignment early this summer. This is my second times doing alignment with them. I swapped on my winter tires in this mid fall and raised my car up about 1 1/2 inches higher. So when i to pep boys in Salem, MA to get alignment and they give me a wait time about 3 hours. So I waited for an hour and left my car there and went home. Called local store on Friday, consulted a service person and agreed to bring my car in for a diagnostic Saturday. Dropped off the car, reiterated i wanted to diagnose problem and analyze cost. 2 hours later I get a call saying my car is all set and this is what was done and the cost is $228. Never got a call to say this is the issue and what the cost would be, never agreed to have the work done, or the price, and was essentially forced to pay since the work was done already. I could've had the same service done for $100 else... read more

On 5/31/16 I brought my car into the Salem, Ma store because my check engine light was on. The man I spoke to asked a few questions, told me it was probably just a computer glitch, manually turned the check engine light off and then sent me on my way. The next day I returned because the check engine light was on again. I was told the person who could do the diagnostic test wasn't available and to come back tomorrow. Worst costumer service EVER, I've been to a lot of places and never have I been dismissed so casually like this place, they charged me over 80 dollars the estimate price for a radio install and then i went out to my car when it didn't work, they said it's probably a defective radio, you didn't buy it from us. Now my dash lights don't work AND I have an improperly installed radio that I paid $230 to get installed wrong! I brought my car in for a check engine light, and was told the diag would take less than an hour, which it did. they then said the problem was a crank shaft sensor and to replace shoudln't take more than an hour. after 1.5 hours i asked for the status, was told the part had just come in. another 1.5 hours later with no one checking in on me at ALL, i asked again and they said the mechanic didn't realize there were so many belts to remove. after another 45 MINUTES my car was ready with barely an apology and no discount on a j... read more
