Made an appointment to have my battery replaced. Verified they would work on my car as it’s a bit tricky to get to the battery. They said absolutely. Got there, pulled in then the “mechanic” said he was too scared to change the battery. They refused to do the service. Absolutely useless people at this location! Then to add insult to injury these idiots couldn’t figure out how to jumpstart my vehicle so I could leave.
They asked to change my appointment to later. Then called to ask why I didn’t show for the original appointment. Had to then reschedule as the second appointment was no longer available. Tried to get an added “shop fee” past me on the bill. Tried to upsell to their overpriced alignments, apparently not included with the inflated installation fee. Four tires eventually installed. Two of them actually has the proper psi. One was under, another significantly over psi.
Excellent customer experience, open on Sunday which saved me. Towed my car right away and fixed my tire in a reasonable amount of time.

Couldn't believe how much they charged to install a few things in my 4 runner...seems crazy to charge over $230 just to install previously purchased items when actual time spent was less than an hour--over $200/hr service.charge.seems.extreme.

I have been going to Pep Boys stores since I was a little kid in Los Angeles, California. It seems they have always had exactly what I needed. The best part? The staff at this store are always extremely helpful if I can't find exactly what I need. There might be other auto parts stores in Salt Lake City, but this is always my go-to place! Keep up the good work.
