This place has definitely gone downhill in recent years. We've been in Newark DE since '95, and have used Pep Boys at College Square exclusively for routine (and some major) maintenance. Never a problem until a couple of years ago. Small jobs take all day. And THEY WON'T CALL YOU WHEN YOUR CAR IS READY. Two days ago (Monday 6/18/18), we dropped our jeep off for an oil change and to have a sun visor tightened. Dropped off at 8:30AM. I called them at 4:10PM for status. Was told maybe 6:00-6:30!!! Your communication with customers is horrible. What is the point of making an appointment if it takes over 6 hours for an oil change only to have the car ready only to be called 15 minutes before the store closes that my vehicle is ready. Not the 1st time it happened either. Tries to give the store the benefit of the doubt but I won't come back nor will I reccomend you to anyone
Can't say enough good things about the service department at this location. I was driving through on a road trip and got a low tire pressure notification as I was passing Newark. Rolled into Pep Boys an hour before close and the service department stayed open a little late just to make sure my tire was okay and get me going on my way back to DC. Really kind, compassionate folks working here. Thank you again!
My appointment was at 6pm for an oil change. They didn't take the car back until 6:30. It is now nearly 8pm. My car has been sitting with the hood up for at least an hour and no one has touched it. No one has come to give me a status update. I finally had to go ask and was told it would be 15 more minutes. I have watched the techs laughing and joking and talking a whole lot while very little has been done to the vehicles in the bay for service. I will not be back.
I had an appt at 5 didn’t get put till almost 8pm they stalled never came into let me know what’s going on until I went and ask they sick will never go back again and then they ask what are you here for what they didn’t have the same paper work that was given to me makes you wonder I would never recommend them to anyone
the guy wanted to charge me &120 for my tries. Good thing my dad come the price come down to $35.00 because I got my tries from Tire rack amen. But it was good. Quick tire replacement. In one of the workers put a brand new tire on my spare so yeah.
