I am currently sitting in Pep Boys waiting for my oil change to be completed. It is now 11:00 and I have been here since 9:00, since that was when my appointment was scheduled for. I completely understand if you do not have the manpower to be guaranteeing and advertising "30-minute oil changes with appointment" but then you need to stop making false claims. They take your money and never fix the problem. When they tell you to bring it back in they charge you for an Engine diagnostic check that they say they didn't do the first time they charged me $1200. Their 90 day guarantee doesn't mean anything because they say that it's a new problem. Though the problem was never fixed in the first place. The staff and including the Managers are not trustworthy!! Tell your friends don't give them their hard earned money....its throwing money away with Pep Boys in Orland Park
Got my car back with the override for the DVD player disconnected. I understand they have a liability, but now I can't watch DVD's at all. You failed to repair it or even mention the issue. You broke my stereo, when the repair was a gas leak. You didn't even properly reassemble my dashboard. Oil n Express across the street is a better bet on any day. Made an 11:00 appointment to have four tires installed on my truck. Was told when I dropped it off it would take an hour. Called to check the status at 12:10 and was told that they were just about to pull it in to START working on it!! So told them to forget it and asked what's the point of making an appointment. My only response was sorry. Never using PepBoys for any type of service again.
BIG Rip off......DO NOT SHOP on them. 3.6 hour job by book , they change for 6 hours (Only change a water pump) calls for over $ 800 USD with the part only $176 USD. Never go to Pep Boy. Unless you enjoy bring rip off.
Do not go here! Especially if you're not from the Chicago area. I recently had to take a car here, and they tried to take me for a ride! I got two versions of what was wrong and the process that would be involved. The final story was that our head gasket and engine head would need to be fixed. And that it would cost more than the car was worth! Ended up transporting it via trailer to our local place, and that wasn't what was wrong at all. It was just the thermostat! DO NOT GO HERE! YOU'LL GET RIPPED OFF!
