Peebles Bar-B-Que was started in 1947 by Elle and Gladys Peebles. Mr. Peebles drove a school bus and started his small business on the side. The small side job turned into a major landmark in no time. He was soon joined by his two sons to help run the restaurant that had grown incredibly. Later after Mr. Peebles had left the business to his two sons, Dale Strickland married Mr. Peebles youngest daughter Marsha Peebles. I had a pullpork sandwich meal with Cole slaw,baked beans and potatoes salad and sweet tea and OMG it was so delicious and more then I could eat alone I brought half my sandwich and BBQ baked beans home with me and had it for lunch today...
I have to be honest with you... if I just drove by would I stop. Ummmmm probably not! But we actually saw the place on internet of 12 most dives with the best food. So had to try it! Must say they were totally correct! We had Beef sandwich, Pork Sandwich, Ribs and Pork plate..... absolutely No complaints! Everything was amazing including sides and your Sweet tea. Perfect!!! Thanks for the great food!
Absolutely delicious. Will be a go to place when my work brings me to Auburndale! Little on the expensive side for lunch but it's great quality. The coleslaw was absolutely perfect in my opinion. They don't offer a combo plate on the menu but you can order one, I did the ribs and chopped chicken, totally delicious.
First time there and I loved it. No frills or thrills, just great food. Will definitely be back many times. Only open Thurs, Friday and Saturday for now.
Excellent regular chopped pork plate with potato salad, slaw, and baked beans. Unsweetened Ice tea was good with lemon and I ate no bread because I'm on a diet... ;)
i've been eating at PEEBLE'S for 56 years and never walked away saying so and so's place is better,always deliciously cooked pit bbq. my weakness s the chopped pork.
Best Ribs around, staff is always so friendly and fast
The waitress was worst expression of all the 40 yrs been going there
