Peebles Bar-B-Que was started in 1947 by Elle and Gladys Peebles. Mr. Peebles drove a school bus and started his small business on the side. The small side job turned into a major landmark in no time. He was soon joined by his two sons to help run the restaurant that had grown incredibly. Later after Mr. Peebles had left the business to his two sons, Dale Strickland married Mr. Peebles youngest daughter Marsha Peebles. We've gone here over thirty-three years. We like the old BBQ sauce better.
Don't wear white because you're going to get sauce on you- I did,-and it was worth it!
Growing up in Auburndale as a child I was loved Peebles Barbeque. When I visited this week in Auburndale I wanted to bring Peebles Barbeque to my family in Port St. Lucie. I went to Peebles and purchased 10lbs of shredded pork at $10.95 per pound which was put into aluminum pans plus 2 bottles of sauce. After arriving back home an serving my family the pork I discovered the flavor of the meat was altered by the taste of oil residue from the new aluminum which are suppose to be cleaned before using and obviously were not! Peebles was AMAZING as always ! I've been eating their BBQ for over 25 years !! Can't believe they haven't been put on Diners Drive-ins and Dives !! Great Food & Great People !!

Excellent food and staff. Had the honor of meeting the owner Dale who invited me to move down here and join his staff. He showed me all around his business and let me have a couple samples the day before his opening day. AWESOME !!!! The Cole slaw, baked beans, potato salad, and meats are some of the best you can put in your mouth. Had the honor of meeting some of Florida's finest from the FSP and the Chief of police in Auburndale, Chief Chris Nelson. Awesome man
