Wanted: More Space, Quieter Atmosphere, Caring Mgt – The owner's cares about getting every dollar per square inch for their restaurant. My party of six was seated in the small room at the top of the stairs. The problem is they squeezed our table in the middle of the 10 tables in the room. This means a room the size of a large dining room seated over 30 people. Conversation quickly became difficult as other parties were seated in this room. This room is loud and cramped for the patrons seated, when the wait staff shuffles in ... read more
Best place in the triangle! – We have eaten here several times and have always had exceptional service and fabulous food and wine. We have recently relocated from the New York area which is known for their versatile dining experiences and quality food. Peak City Grille would stand up with the best. We have sampled almost every item on the menu and found them all to be wonderful.. It's great to get such a good meal for the money without having to drive downtown. We give them a 10!
Consistently good – We eat at Peak City a few times a year and have never been disappointed. The food is always tasty, with a good selection of beer and wines, and free live entertainment. The building, being a converted 100-year old General Store is amazing, a lot of thought, money and effort obviously went into it's conversion. We went there on New Year's Eve, and although full, they did a great job of getting the different courses out in a good time frame. Next time you're looking for somewhere to eat in the Apex area try... read more
Great place in downtown Apex – As newcomers to the area, we were looking for a nice place to eat in Apex. The Peak City Bar & Grill fills the bill nicely. Good food, great location, and nice music playing most nights. We love the place for it's variety of food and styles, we'll have fish one night, pasta another, and there's always good beer and wine to wash it all down. We've honestly never been disappointed and always go at least one or twice a month. Two thumbs up !
Great ambiance and food! – We live in Cary, but make the trip to Peak City a couple of times most months. We've been for dinner, lunch and brunch and have never been disappointed. The evenings when they have music ( mostly jazz and soft rock ) make it a wonderful evening to dine, or sit at the bar with a drink and lighter bar meal ( you must try the Blue Chips, they are out of this world.) The building is a marvel, having been built a hardware store a hundred years ago or so. It can get a little noisy downstairs, so if you p... read more
Editorial Review by Citysearch Editors – From 19th-century general store to favorite happy hour destination, this elegantly renovated building in downtown Apex draws nightly crowds.
Slow untrained service, mixed food quality, nice decor – Visited for dinner as a "couple night's out". Greeter was pleasant. Atmosphere is attractive but accoustics make for a very loud place. Service started out OK, but quickly slipped into not so good. We asked if we could sample a wine as they were pricey. Server said it depended on whether or not a bottle was already open. This seemed like a strange answer, but not a big deal at this point in meal. Ordered soup and salad. Soup was good, salad dressing was so-so. We asked... read more
Better lunch than dinner – Peak City's atmosphere is just what Southwestern Wake County needs. The wine list is very nice and the music is soothing, most of the time. However, the service is sometimes good and sometimes not and the prices on the menu are pretty out there for dinner, if you consider the portion size. I have found that lunch options and prices are much better than dinner. The dinner prices seem like something that you'd fine at Sullivans in Raleigh. If that's the case, maybe their servers should take lessons f... read more
If you don't know the difference between NY Strip and Ribeye, this place is for you... – Because neither do they!! A member of our party was served a ribeye when she ordered NY strip. It was not cooked correctly, either. She returned it...only to be server yet ANOTHER ribeye. She was then given a FREE steak (mind you, the rest of us had already finished eating) which was yet ANOTHER ribeye. Another member of our party DID get a NY strip steak. It appeared to be cooked correctly. But it was tough. I had ordered Ahi Tuna, whic... read more
