4Star Right In The Heart of Apex – My wife and I have been to Peak City many times for dinner and a few times for Sunday Brunch after church and each time, we can say we have enjoyed our dining experience. We love the fact that there is such a nice restaurant with great atmosphere in such a historic little piece of the Triangle. Each time we have been for dinner there has been a nice vibe in the air and the staff has always been top notch. The bar is incredible with a great wine list and an extensive microbrew selection (whi... read more
An incredible experience – To me, a good restaurant is more than just food. It is ambiance, it is the service?in short it is the experience. It goes without saying that this little nook has incredible food?trust me, it does. I promise you?ll want to go back. But that?s just the beginning. The service was superb, too. We were greeted at the door by a hostess that was very warm and friendly. Our waitress was nice, too, and the service was on the spot. The room was also very beautiful-- warm and nicely decorated. There was a wo... read more
Beautiful dining room, excellent service, fantastic food – Peak City was the highlight of my recent trip to the Apex area. The food was very good and the service was fantastic. The bread was delicious and warm. Excellent wine and beer selection and the staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. Our server was very prompt and all our food came out smoothly. Both of our meals were outstanding. Peak City is a must whenever you are in Apex. Don't miss it!
I really WANT to like this place but have had 2 bad experiences – My husband and I went for dinner the first time. We ordered a bottle of champagne and the server didn't know how to open it. OK, no biggie, but the staff should be trained on these things. We were suprised a the food prices - very pricy and everything ala carte. We ordered veal oscar and our server asked how we would like the veal prepared. We told her we would take the chef's recommendation. She came back and told us that they have 2 chefs and they didn't agr... read more
good atmosphere, but the service is lacking – I love the atomosphere of this place and it's great to stop in for a drink. But the customer service is very poor. My husband are regulars, so when I called to arrange a private room for an event, I was suprised that I had to call and call to get someone to call me back! I had to practically beg to bring them a private party! After hosting events at the Angus Barn and at Second Empire, I was so disappointed in the lack of professionalism and customer service! Bottom line, it's a ... read more
The absolute worse service ever – The four of us went to Peak City Grill recently and as much as I hate to say this--mainly because Apex really needs places like this--I've never had a more horrible experience for the money we had to spend. To start off with our server Brooke, (who was totally rude throughout the evening, ) let us know that we needed to hurry up and order because the kitchen was getting ready to close. Maybe we should have been told beforehand that there were time restraints, but that's just me. I would rath... read more
I never had service like this.................. – There were 6 girls total. All we wanted was to have a drink and celebrate our friends birthday with dessert. We were rudely treated. Waitress rolled her eyes when we told her what she could expect, drinks and dessert. We had the worst martinis in the world. Glass was not even chilled. When I questioned if there was any alcohol in my cosmo, the waitress snapped and asked me if I even knew what a cosmo was. We ordered 1 dessert and our checks were on the table before the desser... read more
Great food, great service, great overall vibe – I felt like I had to write in response to a couple negative reviews I read which I didn't think were indicative of the restaurant at all- I met a couple girlfriends here for drinks the other night and we loved the atmosphere so much we stayed all night & had not just drinks but apps, a full dinner, & desserts. We shared a couple appetizers: shrimp baked right into a hush puppy and bruschetta & I had grouper which had amazing risotto served with it. I thought the menu had a lot ... read more
Very average – Definately not worth the prices that they are charging. We went on a Thursday night and it was kind of slow. The service was fine. The food was nothing great. Nothing seemed very fresh or very unique or even very good. We wanted to avoid a chain restaurant and try something different but by the end we were regretting that decision and would have loved to have gone to Ruby Tuesday or Fridays instead.
