Been let down and rejected
I had a wonderful inpatient experience. I cannot commend enough the team, with special mention to Dr Daly, Nick and Dr Helen (along with all the allied health team along with the rotation of nurses). With a comprehensive and wholistic approach to mental health, this service is providing wonderful support to its local community. I called in a crisis situation this afternoon to enquire about short term crisis accommodation, as I had been told by a mental health practitioner that this facility was associated or colated with Safe Haven. The receptionist Bronwyn told me that they are not a phone service, have nobody to answer call, and that their services are only available to Tasmanians with Access mental health. I guess my American accent denied me the decency to recommend another number to call, if nothing but Lifeline. Saddening but helpful to know ... read more
