I got referred for an autism evaluation. I was told by Dr. Long because I can make some eye contact and can hold a conversation that I can't have autism. I was told that I have autistic traits and may have fit the criteria for Aspergers but since that's no longer a diagnosis, no. Then compared to higher support needs autistic people, saying that I'm not the same. (It's almost like it's a spectrum... also, aspergers is now just level 1 autism, NOT just gone.) I would give 0 if I could.. We waited months for our appointment.. We had been referred by 2 therapist that had been seeing my son for months for possible Autism.. Dr Long littery spent 5 mins with my son and because he shows Affection he cant possibly be autistic.. then spent 15 mins ask me how I came to this conclusion.. Which I had never thoughts is was autism but he called the therapist from Agape crazy for even telling me that.. Was referred ton Paul Long for physiological testing. Receptionist was very unfriendly and informed me that they don’t do testing
I was tested by Dr long back in February and it was such a stress free process (well besides some of the tests which were pure frustration lol) being late diagnosed, a woman, and having ptsd I worried he wouldn't listen and I'd be dismissed without even being listened to. Dr long was wonderful the two times I saw him, very professional and informed.
Dr. Paul Long is very professional. Breaking up it in 2 appointments, it helps my son better understand his situation. Highly recommended.
