First time in Baton Rouge. Came in from Birmingham for a long weekend to celebrate our anniversary. Several friends had recommended Parrains. Went Thursday 3/10 around 5:30. You MUST order the Crab and Crawfish Au Gratin appetizer!!! Out of this world!!! I had fried shrimp and coleslaw. Hubby had Black Drum. This is my new favorite restaurant. The thin fried catfish and rice dressing is excellent!
Yesterday, (1-25-16) was my first visit to Parrain's Seafood and it will not be my last! My mom, husband and all are a delightful meal. Of course, our appetizer was grilled alligator, delicious. Mom had the thinnly fried catfish, I had the combination shrimp/fried oyster, husband combo fried crayfish tails/etouffe ! All the trimming, salad, dirty rice, french fries and cole. Yes, I needed a to go box, no I could not eat dessert, but brought home the bread pudding! Yes, please go for the fabulous meal and the vintage decor !
My husband and I ate here for the first time this evening celebrating our anniversary. We will definitely be going back. Everything was delicious, and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
The boudin balls & boudin omelet off of the brunch menu was outstanding. The wait staff was extremely friendly & courteous.pluse the portions were very generous.
