About this business

Dr. Chynn had the older cutting LASIK procedure on his left eye, which left him with dry eyes and night glare, which are the most common problems after LASIK. That's why he got the newer, safer, non-cutting LASEK in his right eye, so that's why he doesn't have dry eyes or night glare in this eye. LASEK if safer for everyone because it avoids cutting into the cornea, and is the only procedure that is safe for people with thin corneas and high prescriptions. Dr. Chynn has degrees from Dartmouth, Columbia, Harvard, Emory, and N... read more

Took multiple visits and another surgery and still took months and months before I was seeing correctly in one eye and for the blurriness to disappear.

Great experience! They were always available and helpful. They explained things to me and gave me plenty of attention. Overall they reminded of what customer service truly means.

The office is run poorly and inside waiting room needs a fresh updated look. Needs to feel more clinical.

Dr. Chin proposed a "monovision" procedure that I later learned (solely through my own research) is not appropriate for a squash player or anyone else who needs or wants eye-hand coordination. He was rude and belittling to his staff in front of me. Worst of all, he tried to charge me more in fees than the modest co-pays Oxford Health Care's terms of service permit, notwithstanding that I Park Avenue Lasek is an Oxford in-network provider. (They don't have to serve as an in-network provider, but upon doing so they agree to... read more

Dr Chin tried to sell me on a monovision procedure that wasn’t appropriate (as I am a tennis player), something I only learned by my own research. Further, even though he voluntarily signed up to be a United Healthcare in-network provider, he refused to honour United Healthcare’s terms (asking for copayments from me in the thousands when UHC’s plan only requires/permits defined copayments on the order of $50). Topping t all off, he was rude and abrasive to all those around him and supercilious with me. The man has a ... read more

Dr. Chynn is clearly a skilled professional who knows how to approach all issues pertaining to impaired vision. I had my procedure done about 4 years ago, and I am still seeing with clarity (20/15). He was able to achieve this despite my high prescription (-5.5) and thin corneas. My only real problem is occasional dryness, which can be annoyingly uncomfortable in the dry winter air. I went back to see Dr. Chynn for a checkup, during which he cauterized my tear ducts for the second time. This was extremely painful, but defin... read more
