This place is AMAZING!! Loved the park and all the beauty that it offered. The only complaint that I have is that the restrooms/showers were out of order when we arrived. We were informed that the other restroom without showers was working and asked at that time if that was ok, and it was. The next day that restroom was also out of order and we had to go to another camp to relieve ourselves. If they were expecting a large crowd for spring break then they should have had a backup plan if this type of problem arose such as por... read more
It was an amazing experience for my family and I to see this Canyon. I wish it had more information about the Indians and what happened. We took the tour at the visitors center, learned all about everything but how the Indians habituated the area. There is one historical marker which stated there was a fight among the white people and Indians and their horses were killed but that was really it. I would love to see some local Indian vendors to contribute to their work as well but Palo Duro itself is a sight to see! You can dr... read more
This has been on our camping bucket list and it did not disappoint. Beautiful and very clean....people on trails - don't litter!
Very nice park with lots of trails for hiking and exploring.
We love this park, but I can't give it a five because the maps they give out need improvement. There is hiking for everyone, easy trails to difficult. Our family enjoyed camping overnight in the park and hearing the coyotes come into the camp!
We came over spring break and hiked out to the light house....the trip up to the formation was tough but worth it! We also camped in the back country and it was amazing. Only 1 fella and a small family were out there, considering all the glamping sites were full and it was just us out there, id say we got the better end of the deal, plus the hike out there is breathtaking!
As a newbie to Texas this was on my list of things to see/experience and it didn't disappoint! We had a great day and it was just beautiful! We will be back for sure!! Worth every minute of our 6 hour drive!!
The view is amazing. We didn't camp there but we are considering it no doubt ..A must revisit again
I went with my family last weekend and we had a fantastic time! We rented the Sorenson Cabin (11 months in advance) which has an incredible view! It was well worth the effort of booking in advance and no idea it was filled with prints of Jack Sorenson, the cabin's namesake - so that was an unexpected bonus... We also went horseback riding and hiking (to the Lighthouse). We had a great time together building memories that will last forever :) There's a great diner in Canyon, TX that we went to for steak and eggs (at the recom... read more
