Lindy helped me so much. I was having a really hard time and I felt like I had come to a place in traditional counseling where I was struggling to move forward but after doing several music therapy sessions I started being able to express myself more genuinely and it helped me push through deeper in my other counseling sessions. Lindy Welch, started with Bridging Family as a Music Therapy Intern in September of 2020 and stayed on with us after graduating. She comes to our Day Program for Adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities once a week. Lindy has made such a difference with mobility, inclusion, and participation. She has picked up some of our people for private therapy and that has also been very successful. To all of us, she is a Rock Star!
I have seen first hand the huge difference music therapy makes! Fun story, eyes are the window to the brain, and I’ve seen music therapy improve eye sight proven by a visit to the eye doctor after a session. It really does positively affect the brain.
