I went to the er with my 18 month old daughter because she was really sick. The nurse that put in her IV did a fabulous job. When they admitted her up to 3rd floor the nurses and staff up there were not only concerned for her but also me. And they were always asking me if I was ok and if I needed anything. They put me at ease. At least as much as they could. Thank you all so very very very much
Er visit in october this year, complained and they just pass the buck, finally passed me to security. Security was only good people at this visit. ED staff rude starting at check in, 4 attempts to put in IV never got it, and my veins pop very nicely. I will never go to this ED again, family was with me and they too were appalled. I've had several physical problems over the past 4 years and St. Anthony's is the only place I want to be. What matters to me the most is the loving and caring staff. I've been in several hospitals and nursing facilities and not one comes close to the kind and genuine compassion displayed by almost everyone I've ever had contact with. Even better than UW Madison for overall staff compassion. They will always be my hospital of choice.
Thanks for introducing my sister to a generation of her nursing students & for the helicopter lifeline you extend throughout Northwestern Illinois. Serendipitously, one of your nursing school students cared for me overnight while being treated at one of Chicago's leading medical centers.
The Critical Care staff and Emergency room staff went over and above for my family when my Uncle had a massive heart attack. Even when we had to make the most difficult decision to withdrawl treatment, the staff surrounded us answering any questions and made this unfortunate circumstance as comfortable as possible. I would also like to thank the volunteers for their service as they kept us comfortable and always asked if we needed anything.
