Oscars is a MUST!!! – Oscars is a great place just to be you. The crowd is very mixed, from suits to punks. The drinks and food are cheap. The service is the friendly and the best. Ask for Angel. Fridays are my favorite. They have a DJ from 7-10 There isn't really a dance floor, but people do it anyway. It is a blast. You have to try it.
it never changes – We used to go to Oscars in the seventies and it hasn't changed a bit in all those years. friendly crowd, cheap eats and drinks and great atmosphere make it a place to stop when in the neighborhood.
My favorite hole in the wall – Oscars is great for those days off when you really don't have much to do, so drinking at noon sounds like a great idea. The place has no windows, so when you step out at 4 PM and its still light out, you get a little disoriented. The people are always nice and up for an impromptu conversation. And the cheesesteak and a half deal can't be beat. They never run out of lager, and you rarely walk out spending more than 20 bucks. Love it.
memorable – Nothing has happed to change my mind about this place. I always have a great time. I enjoy the company of the bartenders (not to mention their one liners); the clientele, who is there to enjoy themselves and everyone around them; the waitresses who have been known, on occassion, to get up and dance with the customers on a Friday night. Basically a no attitudes place where you can go to unwind, drink and chat. What type of place is it? FUN!
More like a family – Everybody knows your name, doesn't matter if your a "suit" or "union". Come on down, the food's good and reasonable, so are the drinks. The staff is friendly and strive to please.
