I was very happy with Dr. Kooima. She answered all my questions and did a good job with my knee surgery. It’s healing as scheduled. Therapy needs to be done!!!
Not good, I got a shot in my knee that hurt so bad and didn't help!! I have had many shots before with hardly any pain and they also helped my knee pain for a long period of time. She will never give me another shot and I will never return to her!!!!!
Dr. Kooima explained her findings and gave me her professional opinion for treatment of two injured shoulders. She did not just recommend surgery but to try a PT first. Professional and helpful. Office staff was very good too.
She fixed my torn rotator cuff tear and answered all of my question pre and post op. She was with me every step of the way and is a very intelligent and professional lady. I am lucky to have found her when I was in need of an ortho doc.
Having been to OrthoAZ several times we naturally scheduled with them when I experienced a shoulder injury. We arrived to our appointment right on time and checked-in. Was given paperwork that was completed within 2 minutes. Sat in the waiting room for 2 hours without being called back. When we complained we were then told we arrived to our appointment “late” and the doctor is very strict regarding your appointment time. It would have been great to be told over the phone they needed me to a
Dr. Kooima has replaced both my knees and she did an awesome/excellent job on both of them. I cannot recommend her highly enough.
Cynthia Kooima did a knee scope on my knee last year for my meniscus.. She told me that I may have some arthritis in my affected area in the future. What she didn't tell me that after she was done, I would need a knee replacement the very next year. She even gave me a $800 injection to help with the pain, which turned out to be useless (bone on bone). She is more worried about drumming up biz, then your well being. She's a hack, stay away from her and the Mezona clinics. You've been warned.
I had met with another surgeon prior to meeting with Dr. Kooima and was not impressed. I went to see her for a second opinion. She took the time to really talk to me and understand my pain and what was going on. Surgery it was! On the day of the surgery even though she herself was recovering from surgery that took place 2 weeks prior she was awesome. She realized once getting into my shoulder that it wasn't what the MRI had shown and fixed the actual problem. I would completely recommend.
She was condescending, dismissive, and downright disrespectful toward the things I had to say. She did not seem to take my input into consideration in decisions about what my care should be. She seemed to be inconvenienced and in a hurry to get through my appointment. She did not explain things well, especially what sort of care plan she had in mind. I am definitely seeking a different doctor.
