Gone With the Wind was a work of fiction and wasn't intended to be an in-depth analyst of slavery. It focused on Scarlett O'Hara and her life during those times. I can't imagine anyone, after either seeing the film or heaven forbid reading the book, walk away saying, 'geez, slaves didn't have it so bad.' Sick and tired of people caving in to this "Oh its offensive lets ban it mentality".
I have loved the Orpheum since the 1940s, when it was known by another name. (Hence the 5 star rating). Memphis had censorship then and it seems it is being revived. This would be sad were it not so ABSURD!
Very disappointed in the Orpheum! GWTW is a great movie and wonderful to watch on the bug screen. I am not a season ticket holder but enjoyed various events such as dinner on stage etc. I also bought a lot of things on the online auction. NO MORE!
