About this business

Located in close proximity to restaurants like Ken & Sue's and East by Southwest, the Ore House is one of the oldest eateries in the city. Buying from local ranchers and farmers, this steakhouse serves some truly delicious cuts of meat, as well as many seafood preparations. The steak list comprises the chateaubriand for two, Prime rib-eye and bone-in NY strip, perfectly complemented by sides of sautéed mushrooms and crispy onions. I can't believe it took so long to try the Ore House! We live in Creede and came over to Durango to ride the train and celebrate our 5th anniversary. We sat in the bar room and loved how rustic it was but also how refined the new dining room looked. I love seeing into the kitchen at restaurants as I love to cook myself. The cocktails were tasty, service wonderful, and the meal TOP notch. Plus, I still think about the little fresh cornbread in the mini cast iron pan. Loved it all. Will absolutely be back!

I have always loved the Ore House for the quality of the food -- locally raised meats, seasonal veggies and amazing wine list, etc. Love the new furniture and ambiance. Keep up the good work Ryan and staff! <3

Im sorry people but we paid 49..00 for a steak a la carte that was supposed to be aged so many days that was not good. The meat was tough. I have made better walmart steaks. The sides were extra at 19.00 extra for two. The sides were delicious but really. We did not complain because we were so tired from driving 14hrs. Sorry.
