My mom had an appointment for her minor surgery there. We waited for more than 3 hours and get nothing done. The doctor just told her that he cannot do it. Everyone should avoid this office or the people work there. They have no respect of patients.
Dr. Chiu was recommended to my mom for her dry eyes. When we visited her, my mom was told that she had a more serious problem that needed immediate attention—cataracts. We were told she needed surgery right away or she would go blind, so we scheduled the surgery immediately. Because the doctor would be making money from the surgery, her attitude was attentive and seemed caring. The main issue was that the doctor refused to submit a prior authorization for a medically reasonable alternative and did not provide a clear explanation. I have documented dry eye and sensitivity to certain glaucoma medications, yet my concerns were brushed off. The visit felt more about choosing the easiest option for insurance than what was best for the patient. Communication was poor, and I left feeling unheard and unsupported. I will be seeking care elsewhere.
