March 16th, 2019, mailed first of two insurance claim checks for their endorsement only. Paid $50 for overnight shipping, 25 to them and 25 for them to overnight it back. One of few mortgage companies that requires their endorsement be on homeowners claim checks under 10,000 dollars. Called 5 times, gave some lame excuse about why they couldn't use the overnight envelope with fedex i sent them and they "sent it back via USPS" its now May 2nd and still no check. The joke is on these guys, I sold the house, they are no longer ... read more

Flagstar bought my mortgage Oct 2018. My Nov, Dec and Jan payments were processed correctly; that is, extra amounts were applied to "principle only" as clearly written on my checks. Then Feb, Mar, and Apr 2019, they applied a portion of the extra money to interest/escrow. I admit I should have paid attention to my statement breakdown earlier. Their explanation was that the computer sees any extra amount as a future payment. The remedy is to back out three months' payments and post them again which takes at least two weeks. T... read more

First off i would like to start by saying that my mortgage was sold to Flagstar. ( excuse they gave). from there it gets worse. instead of their team trying to call cenlar or call me or call anybody they fraudulently took money out of my escrow and bought me insurance. and ... read more

Absolute worst customer service I've ever received from not just any bank, but any company I've ever dealt with. I was one of the unlucky Wells Fargo customers that had a loan account transferred to Flagstar. I've had to call in at least ten times since this transfer took place in November because they couldn't seem to post my payments even though I was signed up for auto-debit. They claimed they were behind because of the number of accounts transferred from Wells Fargo. This continued for about 4 months while I continued to... read more

At all cost you should avoid a mortgage with Flagstar Bank. We've recently had a loss/insurance claim and they've been incompetent at every opportunity; they gave reassurances about their process and what they are going to do but consistently and continually failed to do so. We have no choice since our previous mortgage servicing company sold the servicing to Flagstar Bank.
