I inquired about a loan and was lead to believe that only a soft inquiry would be made to my credit. This was incorrect and I took an 18 point hit to my credit for simply looking into a very small loan. I was approved for the $1500 (really only need $250, but you can't even look at anything less than $1500, which later I found out is actually $2000 in Ohio.) Their practices are confusing unless you are skilled in 'legalese' and now I am burdened with trying to gain back 18 points on my credit score which is no easy feat.

I wish there were negative stars. This place is the worst. I was told I was approved for a loan and I set up an appointment the same day. I took off work for the remainder of the day so I could go into their office and finalize the loan. When I got there, I was lead into a small room and sat there for a half hour to just be told that "sorry you are not approved for the loan." I contacted them to get some financial help and I ended up losing money. DO NOT USE THEM!!!! Michelle R.

Unbelievable. Why is this company still in business. It appears OneMain is defrauding consumer's in some way. I am a current customer of this company. I needed a new roof/skylight in my home. I was unable to out right purchase the roof so I was referred to OneMain by someone to finance the roof/skylight. I applied almost 2 years ago and was approved soon after. Initially the skylight appeared to be ok, but less then two years later the skylight began to let small amount of rain in and alot of air when the skylight was closed... read more

Stay away from this horrible company!!!! I spoke to Maria at One Main Financial yesterday and told her that I don't get off work until 5 pm. I even asked my boss for a favor of leaving an hour early so I could make it on time to meet with Maria. She told me that was okay that she will stay until 6 pm. She said that I needed to get my car title for her before I got there , so I drove home as fast as I could to grab it and and then proceeded to drive for over 2 hours in back to back traffic to get there before 6 pm. They are dishonest, I went in and was told that I didn't qualify for the $5000 , but that I was approved for $3100. I told the woman that I would think about it and probably be back. I went back the same afternoon with the same paperwork for employment status and then was told that I had to have a permanent job. This wouldn't be an issue if I was told this that morning. This is why I say they are dishonest.

I have complained about the poor business practices of this branch. They make excuses for their poor judgement and aggressive collecting practices. On numerous occasions I have had one agent call me multiple times within a one to two hour time frame. The branch manager explains that the corporate office calls as well. I got an auto loan fron this company after never being late and paying off my loan they sent me a letter stating i was paid off so i called them and asked when should i recieve my title to my car. The person i spoke with said oh we sent it out a month ago. O said well i never recieved it. I recieved all your other offers and letter but not my title. I am a current customer who was in a 2 month deferment. I thought everything was fine until the day that I authorized the deferment payment. I found out they didn't cancel the direct pay, which resulted in my account being charged twice. When I went to my local branch to figure this out I was told that I just needed to wait for my account to show the items as cleared and then a refund would be issued. I already gotten a loan through this company and never paid late not even once. Over a year later I ran into an emergency and requested for another loan. Almost immediately they called me and informed me that they had reviewed my account and I am approved and gave me a similar list of things I needed to bring in to close on the new loan.
