My 16 yr old son gave blood a week ago at his high school and the person was so incompetent that he has a huge hematoma (literally more than half of his fore arm is a massive bruise)! Never again, and try getting a hold of these people, the school nurse tried 3 times and I tried 5 times! Don't let these people touch you! Give blood just not with them!
I like to donate blood to get free movie tickets but sometimes when they give only 1 i change my mind.
Im an O- donor who has given almost three gallons, and since the switch to the new hemoglobin test, i cannot donate. I have tried and been turned away every single time. The finger prick is unpleasant, but i feel this new machine does not accurately measure everyones iron. I wish that there was an option to do one or the other, but an O-donor will no longer be trying.
I always donate on schedule. Never had issues and my iron is always perfect. Since they have switched to the no blood method of checking iron I have to be rechecked. Today I was turned away for low iron? I ask them to do it the old way and do the finger poke. They said don't do it that way and gave me advice on how to get it to register higher next time. Because I have cold hands I guess I will not be able to give. Give us a choice. People's lives depend on donors.

Good day to you all OneBlood and Donors. I am thrilled to share my testimony of OneBlood. I have been donating blood for years at the Tavares, FL location at Florida Hospital Waterman. I love the staff here. They are always smiling and keeping conversations while I am there. I recommend everyone to try these staffers. Their needle sticks are always good with me.
