I donated blood 2 times last year for them, when it came the time to donate again this year, my account said I am not eligible to donate blood. I have been calling their advocacy office for weeks now, no one answers blaming on Covid, no one returns a call. Maybe if they can’t sale your blood they block you from donating. The worst part is that I need to donate blood on a regular basis. I showed up to my appointment to donate and was turned away because I am a paramedic that obviously around Covid patients. I wear full protective PPE around every patient and have had both rounds of the Covid vaccine but apparently that doesn’t matter. Regardless of the need for blood, if you are an essential healthcare worker, don’t waste your time with trying to donate with OneBlood because they don’t want to even be near you. American Red Cross, on the other hand, will gladly accept blood donations from everyone, regardle... read more

I had a physical yesterday BP was 118/68. which doctor states is high for me. Hgb from labs was 13.6. Today I went to donate, they used an automatic BP cuff (148/104) EXTREMELY HIGH FOR ME and used a machine that wraps around the thumb to get Hgb. She first gave me a "hot hands pack" to wrap around my thumb to warm my thumb up. IT WAS DANG HOT! IT LEFT RED MARKS!! So the machine says my Hgb is 12.4(has to be 12.5 to donate) She gives me the Hot pack again and "says squeeze it tight against your thumb". She takes it again and... read more
