A terrific fusion of sports fanatics, hip-hop, acid jazz, funk fans, and microbrew aficionados populate this South Street locale. The downstairs area is sports theme while mostly spartan upstairs dance floor hosts live DJs. The downstairs bar area allows patrons, generally in their mid 20s to late 30s, to enjoy all satellite sports and a selection of over 90 different brews, including 18 beers on draft. Microbrews on draft alternate from week to week. On Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, guest DJs spin old school hip-hop, R... read more

Usually fun! – O'neals has great happy hour deals and daily beer specials, plus the food is affordable and pretty good. Sometimes the crowd is great but othertimes it's blah. It's a mixed crowd- locals, professionals, visitors, young, old... There's darts and poker upstairs some nights. The 2 bathrooms downstairs are unisex, very small and kinda gross. Lots of flat screen TVs- always sports, jukebox. The staff is usually nice and efficient but I've heard them be rude to others (seems the better looking they are, the ruder th... read more
My favorite Bar – I'm puzzled by pnative's negative review of O'Neals. As one of the most regular of the regulars, I can tell you authoritatively that it is NOT a white trash crowd. It is a diverse crowd. When I learned of pnative's comments I was sitting with a group of regulars that included an architect, a retired union executive, several people with their own businesses, an Ivy League educated lawyer, and a high school principal. Everyone in this group has a second home either at the shore, Thailand or Mexico. This is ju... read more
Thank God for White Trash Bars – Since I lost my idiot to English dictionary last week I didn't know that "white trash bar" was now the idiot term for a racially and ethnicaly diverse bar with people from every social class. From the group from the Philly DA's office in last Saturday night, to the various union tradesman, to the hip hop crowd, to the skateboarders, to the Rugby team and darts players who frequent this corner bar the only commonality is a desire to be themselves and have a good time. Let's face it O'Neals is ... read more
Awesome beer selection, great crowd, and good food. – I do not understand how some of you people can say that the food is greasy. (Learn to spell "greesy") O'neals has some of the best bar food on south street. Also the bartenders are rude?! I've never encountered it, but I have seen if a customer is rude to the staff then they get the service right back at them. The beer selection is something to desire and their happy hour now is just amazing. Were else are you going to get 1/2 off drinks from 4:30 til 6:30? If anyone read... read more
Don't Waste Your Time - Rude Bartenders, White Trash Crowd – The good: good american beer selection, lots of tv's, close to S. Street. The bad: bartenders are pretty rude, food is over priced and greesy, crowd is usually the white trash variety. Bottom line: Philly has alot more bars to choose from than it once did, O'Neals needs to realize this and up their game.
Mixed feelings about this place, good music, bad entrees, cute female staff, rude males, reasonable prices – This place is a sports fan dream, they have a ton of nice big tv's with evry gane that is on the day your there. The Male bartenders are rude, but the female servers and bartenders are cute and very nice. The food is terrible, unless your getting wings, the fries are good too, but dont try anty of the specialty items because they are over priced ill prepared, and down right gross and overly greesy and overpriced. They... read more
one of the best bar staffs in the city – oneals has been my favorite bar since i moved to the city. I love the bartenders there, they are fast and efficient and friendly. Ive never had any problems getting a good drink from any of them. It can be a little loud, but hey,you are in a bar after all, If you want a quiet evening with friends, sports bars on south street wont be the vibe you are looking for. If you want to hang out somewhere fun, then come to oneals.
Nasty Bartenders – Hey, I've heard the stories about O'neal's. The bartenders in the place treat you like trash. Maybe it's the proximity to the South Street scene, they figure you're not a local and won't be back again. They really act like they're doing you a favor by serving you. An example, a friend in our group took 'too long' deciding on what beer to order and the bartender just sighed and walked away. Then he made it a point to stand at the other end of the bar and give us stupid looks. When I asked him about it, he t... read more
This ever-inviting watering hole proves that local denizens, sports fans and South Street revelers can party in peace. – In Short It's a neighborhood watering hole-meets-DJ lounge-meets-sports bar. TVs are usually tuned to sports; for the internationally inclined, a schedule near one television outlines the world schedule for the week. DJs come in after 10pm, Wednesday through Saturday. The smaller bar upstairs has a board for English darts and serves both busy weekend nights and private parties; there's also a small outdoor... read more
