Very pleasantly surprised how good the food and service was...Love that cornbread! My cousin recommended On the River and we weren't disappointed!

Highly disappointed. We are from San Antonio however my husband works in this area. We really wanted some great seafood but sadly that didn’t happen. My first clue should have been that the gumbo was shrimp and krab with a “k”. How do you have a seafood restaurant and serve imitation crab? So I passed on that. Ordered the stuffed shrimp. We attended an event this evening; it was a large group. The service was great. But the food was very disappointing. My son got food poisoning from it. We have eaten there several times before, and it was really good... I guess they dropped the ball tonight.
Philip is the absolute best server I have ever had! Come see him and eat the awesome food they have here!

The service was great. And the food IS ALWAYS great. Waiter was on his game. The Coleslaw and cornbread was great as always. Would recommend this to everyone.
We had the gumbo and the old brazos special and they were both fantastic along with the fried pickles, onion rings, cornbread, and Cole slaw!!! THEN our 3 year old little man decided to try his hand at chair scooting at the table again after the first fall on the ground didn’t hurt badly enough.
