Very friendly and attentive staff. Tasty cornbread served in cast iron skillets was a big hit. I had the fresh fried oysters. They were perfect. My friend ordered fried flounder, but was served grilled instead. They quickly corrected and came back with a complete new plate. Cole slaw was good and peach cobbler was really good. Yum Recommended.

great food at reasonable prices
The oysters were overcooked, the coleslaw was old and mushy. French fries had been refried and the corn bread was rubbery.

My whole family and I were disappointed in On The River. It’s gone way down since we’ve left. My grandpa even said it’s worse than the last time he came, which was 6 months ago. Coleslaw was old, even smelled bad. Cornbread was hard and burnt. The fries you could tell got refried. My grandpa got a fried oyster po’boy and they were over cooked and burnt...sent them back and got them a little better yet still the same thing. Just very disappointing because we were all looking forward to eating here...it’s been over 4 years sin... read more
Great atmosphere, great waiters, great flounder, great cornbread!
The corn bread was very dry and cold .. The fried pickles just didnt taste well . but there catfish and burger were amazing .. Especially that cole slaw amazing !! I would go back ..
