Great location, staff friendly and very helpful, very clean and extremely great location
Terrible Invasion of Privacy – While here, someone entered my room, went on my computer and watched porn. This could only have been one of two people and yet the hotel denied any knowledge, did nothing to make amends, besides move me to another room--AT MY REQUEST--and then make me feel like I was making the whole thing up. Don't stay here if you value your privacy; they will defend their employees and not think they have to make your stay more comfortable or safe, a basic requirement.
BEwARE OF THIS HOTEL – I frequent Austin for weekend getaways and chose the Omni for the first time, as I got a great rate on Hotwire. First I will say the rooms were small but nice. The housekeeping was very friendly, as were the bellhops. However, the first night I came back to lobby after a night out with friends. I am in my 30s, and not some college kid cruising in drunk from 6th street. Long story short, a very low class group of girls drunk and looking for a fight were provoking my friends in elevator. As we continued ... read more
Avoid weekends and 6th Street drunks – This place may work for weekday business, but avoid it at all costs on weekends with families. This very sterile business hotel is located a block or two from the famous/infamous 6th Street party scene. The guests reminded me of what you'd see in a Las Vegas casino: loud, boisterous and inappropriate. Our daughter was accosted by a drunk on the way back to her room with a pizza. The price of passage was a slice. The management appeared unimpressed with the report. I guess it is not unco... read more
Highly recommended – This is a great hotel to stay in. It is central to everything downtown. We used it to house our out of town wedding guests. The hotel assigned a coordinator for the rooms, and set up a great rate. They gave us a 3 room suite for free for booking the rooms with them, and a free night to use at a later date. The hotel is fun and relaxed, with attentive staff. Rooms are standard, but the rooftop pool and jacuzzi are fun! They created a great atmosphere for a large wedding party.
Best Concierge Staff – We've sayed at the omni a bunch. The staff on the concierge lounge are super. Happy hour nice. New chef is very talented. Maid service right on point. Rooms are quite nice for a city hotel. Great facilities.
Loved it! – Very friendly and helpful staff, they have a pretty well stocked gym. You can even have a treadmill delivered to your room as well as a "Get Fit Kit". Take great care in accomodating travelers...breakfast was delivered to my room as requested on the card; no one ever disturbed me...they just knocked and left it there. If you're a Starwood member, you receive 2 complimentary beverages and have the option to select USA Today or Wall Street Journal. Restaurant in hotel has a minimal selection, but bar is lovely. Local favorite offers sweeping downtown views and luxury accommodations for business or pleasure. – In Short Most famous for the glass atrium that allows glimpses of the city while letting in all that Texas sunshine, the Omni building houses both the hotel and business offices, making for a bustling lobby area. There are 375 guest rooms, including 18 one-bedroom and 19 two-bedroom executive suites, which have full kitchens and washers and dryers. There are 16 meeting rooms with Internet connectivity and a rooftop pool and on... read more
We had our wedding here – We had our wedding at the Omni, and it was fabulous. Our guests were treated well, and the rooms were great. We loved the location because we could walk to sixth street and the capitol. We were given a complimentary suite. I still get compliments on the food that we served at our wedding. Everyone says that its the best wedding food they've ever had. We served steak, and everyone was impressed with how good it tasted, and how it wasn't overcooked. I highly recommend this hotel, especially if you're ... read more
