The surgery and recovery time were much easier than I anticipated. It is a partnership between you and Dr. Barzideh. He provided an excellent result, but as the patient, you have to assist in your recovery by exercising before and after the surgery and following their directions.
Dr Barzideh is a skilled surgeon who explains everything to you. He is kind and caring. I recommend him highly. The joint replacement program at Winthrop is excellent and so is Dr. Barzideh
Almost all the reviews here are about joint replacement surgery. However, I was not impressed with this doctors diagnostic skills. He diagnosed me with a torn meniscus, which the MRI showed I have, but he failed to realize that the pain was on the complete opposite side of my knee- outside corner, while torn meniscus is in the back on the knee. Went to another well regarded orthopedic who actually looked at the films and correctly diagnosed my arthritis and treated me with gel shots.
I thought his pre -op program was great. I recommend that everyone follow the pre -op excercise program prior to their operation. You will find it easier to hand the post - op program. His team is fantastic and treat you like a very special person. I aggree with him toataly on the post - op excercise program that you do at home, not to rush the healing process.
Was nervous about knee replacement but plan given before surgery helped to make recuperating after surgery easier and without stress or too much pain The surgery went well and my recuperating has moved faster because of care given before and after surgery
Dr. Barzideh performed bilateral knee surgery on me in June. I cannot say enough about how good his work is. Everything went without a hitch and my recovery has been spot on. I would highly recommend him.
Dr. Barzideh did a total hip replacement on me (Anterior approach w/ robotics). Day after surgery walked entire hospital floor. Gate is perfect. A week later walked from my condo to clubhouse and back (8 blocks round trip). Dr. Barzideh answered all my questions. He made me feel confident. This was my 2nd hip replacement. Had 1st one 7 years ago by a different excellent surgeon. Didn't use him again because he did not do anterior approach. I highly recommend Dr. Barzideh anterior appro
