One of the best restaurants in Hickory!
The Tap Room has always been one of my favorite places to eat. I love the atmosphere and friendliness of staff. I actually went on my first date with my hubby there in 1996. It was very busy that night. We were seated at a bar booth. My date (now hubby) at the time, placed a knife in the middle of the walkway. This place is over 50% capacity during COVID with tons of people not wearing masks and the manager singled out ONE PERSON that went to the bathroom
Very rude hostess. When the food delivery came 45 min later it was not as ordered and looked 5 days old. Never got a refill. Won’t be back, I had to wear a coat in my seat it was so cold.
We've been frequent customers of this establishment and it's almost always our first choice even though it's a 30 minute drive to get here. The service is incredible, the food is phenomenal, and the beer selection is excellent. I got the Ahi tuna last time and I was blown away. It was perfectly seared and rare on the inside like it should be, the spinach maria was so good, and it was fast, even at 6pm for dinner with almost every table filled. Fire the rude girl who sometimes hosts, sometimes serves, and has appointed herself mask police as of lately. I went to pick up a to-go order tonight and didn't have a mask. When I suggested I simply cover my nose and mouth with the top of my t-shirt, she rolled her eyes in an overdramatic way and looked at the hostess, and in a snide tone, and down her nose at me, said, "no, that's not the same!"
