About this business
History Established in 1998. It was a rainy Mother's day in 1998 when we discovered the 75 acres and abandoned farm house at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. With the help of family, friends, and a local grape grower, we soon began working to transform the property into Old House Vineyards. Today, the formerly overgrown alfalfa fields are lush vineyards producing grapes for our award-winning wines. Wonderful wine tasting and toured the grounds next time distillery tasting
I was there for a wedding. Venue is lovely. The island is lovely. My only complaint is that it was not handicapped accessible. The parking lot, as well as the areas between the parking lot, island , bathroom (which is the size of a port a john) and the staging areas are all made of loose gravel. Its simply impossible tp push or pull a wheelchair through that.
We stopped in on Mother's Day we were amazed at how packed it was. The buildings are lovely and inviting. Apparently, it's a big hot spot for weddings and events. Many of the guests brought picnics and were buying bottles of wine and enjoy in the amazing scenery. Tastings are a stand up affair at the bar for $8. While most were not to my taste, the lady who conducted our tasting was knowledgeable and did a great job. I love Old House Winery! Their wines are great-especially the reds!
Had a great time. Beautiful atmosphere and really good food and wine/spirits! Definitely want to go back again!
