Old City Coffee on historic Church Street is my favorite place to get coffee, and a fixture in the Old City neighborhood. I walk past many other coffee shops, closer to my home, on my way to Old City Coffee. My favorites are the mocha latte and the chai latte, either hot or iced they are delicious both ways. I have tried these beverages at other coffee shops, but none come close to what I get at Old City Coffee. Its my first time in Philly. And despite how glaringly obvious that probably seemed, and despite being incoherent and sweaty from the heat, the baristas were so kind and helpful and quick! Not to mention how great and refreshing the coffee was (I got an iced lavender latte) and the food, too (everything bagel with scallion cream cheese). Good Coffee, but unfriendly customer service
While Philadelphia has booed Santa Claus at Eagles games, Old City Coffee is one of the gems of the historic district - fabulous service, good conversation and remarkably consistent coffee. I come to Philly yearly to attend the Decibel Metal and Beer festival and this is my morning routine. Hails and Horns up for the staff and the product. Go Sixers and no boos here…
