My son has a congenital heart defect and has had several stays at Doernbecher. The nurses are so friendly and attentive to my son, as well as my husband and I. We feel tremendous support from our entire team. His cardiology team is great, and even the specialist remembers him and is very familiar with our case (they have a wonderful electrophysiologist which few hospitals do). They are clear and informative and let you be a big part of the process. They include parents in the rounds and questions and comments are always welc... read more

We were there earlier this month for several days with our adult autistic Son, and he is older than18 (He has the mind of a 3-7 yr old) they allowed him to stay there and they allowed my wife, his mother and myself to stay in the room with him at night, it was a great experience so wonderful, so healing, such caring kind and professional people so well ran it was amazing. If you have to have a child diagnosed with brain cancer, Doernbecher is the place to be. Always home to us. 2005 our son age 3 battled medulloblastoma and everyone at hospital saved our son. The social workers and volunteers and organizations rescued us when we really needed rescuing. 2012 We left the state and have recently returned. Our son right back for survivorship at Doernbecher. Wouldn’t have it any other way.

The NICU almost killed my brand new baby girl! By giving her a blood infection. They also treat babies like rag dolls ! The nurses are to busy socializing to even care for the babies they are watching. The doctors poked my daughter 6 TIMES for failed spinal taps that apparently in the end she never needed! Every time they poked her they missed for drawing blood. It goes on and on....... oh yeah and a couple years ago my cousins son had cancer and died during a brain operation!!!! I WILL NEVER GO BACK HERE AGAIN DEFINITELY DI... read more

I wish my experience was as great as everyone else’s I won’t be going back to Doernbecker ER. My 2 yr old was seen for shortness of breath and gasping for air while sleeping 1. According to the triage nurse, I had no knowledge of healthcare words/meanings 2. When Resident saw us she assumed that because of my beautiful tan she should ask “Do you need an interpreter?” Mind you she had not even introduced herself. 3. Dr dx my baby in like what? 5-15sec?? Printed wrong hand out for after visit summary... Oh did I mention! Com... read more
