So. I bring my dad to the er at Ochsner on Jeff hwy. So much construction there is nowhere to park. I'm in his truck with his scooter porch on the back. Parking lot is partially fenced off but has 1 available spot. Security guard yells move your effen truck. Yes...he used the expletive. I'm now angry but move. I ask where he would like me to park and he points across the street. I go there but the lot is locked. I go farther into a parking garage where I'm told I can't park because the truck is too long. I have had amazing treatment and interactions with Ochsner personnel. While I was there today, I watched a lovely doctor pay for a gentleman who was unable to purchase his meal. I took it as a beautiful display of humanity. I am truly blessed with the exceptional treatment I have received as a patient.
Its ridiculous how long they make elderly patients wait...... without a full waiting room.... please dont visit here right now just awful
I was blessed today to have Debra from the Information Desk go out of her way to help me, God bless her! There should be more people like her in hospitals. Thank you SO much!
The Rehab location on S Clearview Parkway needs a lot of improvement in patient attention. 1. Patients request pain meds and they have to wait at least 2 hours before the nurse comes to administer the meds 2. The pain med is administered before physical therapy, but by the time the therapist comes the meds have worn off. 3. The housekeeping is horrible. The patient bathrooms run out of toilet paper and paper towels. This slows down the nursing staff to have to find some until housekeeping shows up. This should be checked eve... read more
Ochsner's admit and patient services are the pits. We have been waiting for a room for more than 3hours and NO ROOM as of yet. When we came to the admit area thete were two people waiting. A procedure is scheduled for tomorrow morning. It looks like we will go from the admit area to the procedure area. They keep saying they are cleaning a room. That room better be very clean, if ever get to it. Ochsner's patient service is inhumane and doesn't reflect compassion for the sick people that they are suppose to serve. It is now 7... read more
Just picked my mom up from the step down unit. Before step down she spent 2 nights in neuro ICU. This was following a transfer from MMC in North Louisiana. Both hospitals took EXCELLENT care of her. Because of the wonderful care and attention to detail, my mom is walking on her own, using both arms freely, and speaking clearly after she had a stroke Wednesday evening. I had the worst experience of my life Easter Sunday in the emergency room at the WestBank location. Two nurses Kyle and Dawn were complete bitches, rude, and disrespectful. Dawn asked personal questions to me in the waiting area!!!!!! All of my doctors are with Ochsner and I'm seriously about to change all my doctors because of this horrible, embarrassing, traumatizing experience!
