RecommendedI've been to Ocean State at 3 different occasions and have been very impressed with the kindness and professionalism of their staff. Just last night we had an emergency with our chihuahua at 1am and were greeted with much compassion and kindness. It turned out not to be a real emergency so they sent us home to see our regular vet and didn't charge us anything even though they took her vitals and evaluated the case. Very impressive. I like the fact that they’re open 24 hours7 days a week for emergencies. My dog (Bruno) was attacked a couple years ago on a Saturday by another dog and they were the only ones opened. They took really good care of Bruno and recently he just had hip surgery with them and he’s doing very well. The staff is very friendly and professional. I would recommend them to anyone.
We rushed our 14 year old miniature bull dog in last night. Thank god he is okay and on the mend. EVERYONE at Ocean State was amazing to us and Melvin. I can’t thank them all enough!
Ocean state killed 2 of my pets. One had liver cancer and she was bleeding out after surgery and had to be put down. After I demanded the results back, half of the liver they removed was healthy tissue. Another pet, my cat, was given too much anesthesia and went brain dead.
I felt so comfortable there. I had a very sick puppy and although I don’t have a happy ending, the staff was so sincere and caring. I pray I never have to go back, but if I have another pet emergency, I will definitely go to OSVS.
My parents’ dog Koby was very ill with CHF. After a visit with a local vet Ocean State Veterinary Specialists was recommended. As soon as we arrived they brought Koby in and provided care for him respectfully as they would for a human. The staff and doctors are all very professional and they are up front as to the costs. Yes, it’s not inexpensive to have your pet taken care of in an emergency situation but this wonderful hospital is well equipped, clean and well run.
