This charming little track in the western suburb of Northville is the winter site for harness racing in the Detroit area. Racing begins in October, as soon as Hazel Park Raceway closes, and continues to the beginning of April. With some exceptions, racing is five nights a week, with the track dark Wednesdays and Sundays. Bettors can wager on other races from around the country. Yup, my rm mate won on a tri, not sure how much but good for him, at least somebody won something, love this place, lots of fun but very costly.
The place is run down to say the least. No one was clearing the tables,bathrooms were nasty. The ceiling fans look like they hadn't been cleaned in decades. Carpet terrible, wallpaper peeling. It was my first time there I expected more. Overall had fun and won some money.
Place needs a facelift. People still want to see live racing but the whole place is run down. Needs some help from the state and put in slot machines
Our cashier was very helpful, she took a lot of time with us explaining the betting process. Fun place.
I've been going to the track for many years and northville to me is an awesome track. I had a great time and hope some type of miracle happens to save harness racing.
