Northlake Tavern & Pizza House

4.3

About this business

Northlake Tavern & Pizza House has remained Northwest's fixture for sumptuous and crusty pizzas since 1954. An old-school charm still resonates through the dining room, while the quirky yet unpretentious decor makes it a perfect spot for fun family dinners, friendly night-out and casual pizza hogging. A must-try on the menu would have to be the zesty chicken special and logger special which comes with real Canadian bacon. Beer is also served.

Piled Higher and Deeper – College student "chef-of-the-week" makes your pizza. It is NOTHING like great pizza that one would find in Italy, or even New York. The crust is always soggy, under cooked, and they think that piling a ton of stuff on a mediocre crust equals a quality pizza. Wrong. More is NOT better! Because of the employee turnover, there is no consistancy and the ingredients taste like they came from a huge can. The decor is dated and unimaginative. It is a loud place with little, or no, atmosphere. Plenty of fre... read more

worth the wait – Easily the best pizza in town. While many don't know about this quaint one-restaurant joint, there are enough that do that you can wait up to an hour to get seated on busy nights. Many wait it out though because the food is that good.

The Bomb – This is the place my parents went to when they wanted the best. Nothing has changed, you still need two hands to pick up a slice it's so stacked with goodness.

over-rated!!! – It's a great place to hang with friends and drink good beer, however, the pizza is not very good. I have heard how it's some of the best pizza in Seattle, so I went with about 5 friends and checked it out. We asked a couple of other guys to go and they passed...saying that they didn't like the pizza. As it turns out the 5 of us agree with them. It has no outside crust, bland flavor, and the crust it has seems like it could be pre-made frozen. I've had MUCH better in Seattle.

Grossly overrated – The most overrated place in town. Want pineapple/canadian bacon? Just literally throw an entire can of pineapple on and have it land where it may. This place stinks.

X-Rated Pizza! – Northlake Pizza in Seattle is the most scrummy and delicious pizza on this planet and probably in the whole world. You can taste their quality ingredients and the types of crusts make it just that more special. If I still lived in Seattle I'd go at least once a week.

One of the worst crusts ever – The toppings are ok. Good amount of cheese. Pizza crust is terrible. Its got the consistency of cardboard. A real turn off. If your looking for a great pizza and $5 pitchers of Red Hook take a drive to sunny Moses Lake, WA and go to Chico's Pizza. It looks like they use a snow shovel to pile on the toppings. I also reccomend getting a side dish of smoked oysters. Chico's is well worth it. The following rating is for Northlake.
