Don't believe the 5 star reviews on this page... they're all employees trying to pad the score. I rented a unit from Nomadic Real Estate for 2 years, and do not recommend working with this company (buying or renting). They lack basic communication skills, are unprofessional, and completely disregard the requests and comfort of their tenants. Timely maintenance is non-existent, and at the end of the lease they will charge you for things like light bulbs, cleaning, and HVAC filters that you already replaced or had professional... read more

Nomadic is the most unorganized and unprofessional rental agency I have ever worked with. My five roommates and I rented a home from Nomadic for a year, and during our rental period we had numerous issues with the infrastructure of the house as well as pest problems. These issues were never sufficiently resolved, including a mouse infestation that became so severe we were unable to use our kitchen. Initially, Nomadic told us that pest control was our responsibility, and only when we cited the lease and their legal responsibi... read more

STAY AWAY! This real estate company has been nothing but trouble. I, along with 3 other tenants, rented a property in Bloomingdale for two years. It should have been a sign when I showed up to the property for a tour and waited over an hour for an agent to give me the tour. Ben, the CEO, finally showed up and was apologetic, but insisted he had never been in the property before that moment. I asked if cobwebs and dust could be swept up before our move in (a month later). None of these items were addressed and we moved into a... read more

My roommates and I moved into a property managed by Nomadic on the 15th of August. Since then, we have had hundreds of issues. The biggest issue being pests: roaches, centipedes, fruit flies, flesh flies and now maggots. We requested an extermination during our negotiation of the lease and they assured us that the home was pest free, but that is a LIE. The property managers are unprofessional and lazy. We should have trusted our guts and NOT signed the lease. We had a feeling that there were problems because the house had be... read more

I am a house-owner who lives away from DC so Nomadic manages my Petworth house- both the rental and upkeep. They are fast, fair and friendly. Inevitably, requests for various repairs arise from the tenants, for this thing or that. Of course, critical issues get dealt with right away. But other times, requests come in that are more debatable. When this occurs, sometimes the Nomadic staff will advocate on behalf of the tenants, e.g., if they think that a particular improvement will help maintain the comfort and value of my hom... read more

Stay away! Unfortunately, when things brake (like A/C unit) the company does NOT take any steps to help you resolve it in a timely manner. In the middle of the summer, you will be waiting (currently still, 2nd month already) for months for them to locate the part, to apparently one of a kind A/C. They will lie to you they are working on it, they will email you they had it shipped, to only play on time, and in following weeks when your part should be there already in the past week, they will send you an email with info that i... read more

We toured one of Nomadic's properties, loved it, and wanted to apply right away. I just received my Masters and am currently looking for work. My parents are assisting me in the meantime. My boyfriend works in DC and has a steady income. We let the person from Nomadic leading the tour, Chris, know this. He advised us to leave me off the application. We took his advice, as we felt we could trust him since he literally worked for the company. My boyfriend was approved based on his salary alone, but we felt uncomfortable that o... read more

I went to see a property twice. The first time, the property manager had the wrong key to open up the apartment. I understand things happen, so I rescheduled the showing for a couple days later. A couple days later, I show up again and met with the property manager. For the second time, the key did not work and I was again unable to see the unit. The lack of professionalism and preparedness tells me I likely dodged a bullet by deciding not to rent through this management company.
