My 18 month old was admitted for an overnight stay for breathing treatments and oxygen. She did not like a single person who walked in with masks and gloves, she immediately started whining/crying, but every single staff member, whether it was a tech, nurse, cleaning person or Dr, they all went above and beyond to console her or even just speak to her to try to calm her while they got the job done! My grandson came in for some major dental. The nurses and drs were amazing. Everyone showed compassion for him.
I’m very conflicted on how to rate our experience. My son had a great surgeon, but I felt that the nurses weren’t very experienced with the type of post procedure care that my son really needed. I had to advocate for him during his hospital stay to make sure that he was given pain meds when he needed them. I was told several times by nurses that he needed to wait and give the Tylenol time to work before giving real pain meds. This is after he had the Nuss procedure.
