A Zagat rated restaurant, Nishino is run by its founder Tatsu Nishino and his team of professional Japanese chefs who are extremely well-acquainted with the art of making sushi. Nishino has been serving its guests since its inception in 1995 and is particularly known for its comprehensive 7-course meals that amalgamate some of the most exquisite creations of the restaurant. Not the best sushi restaurant in town... – I've done the omakase and the 25 for 25 tasting meals here, and wasn't impressed with either. Would rather take my money to Kisaku's - Nishino's just isn't warm enough.

top-tiered sushi in Seattle – I think this place is consistently the best sushi in town. There are other places which are good too, like Saito, I Love Sushi, Chiso. But I don't think any of them beat the consitency of Nishino. Great sushi chefs, wonderful service and ambience, and not much more expensive than other sushi places. It can get rather loud, and it can be a little too crowded, but that's minor. Another minor quibble is that they typically won't list "fresh today" on their specials menu, something that I have found... read more

Outstanding culinary experience! – I don't remember the last time that I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of every dish ordered -- Nishino did it! The fish was exceptionally fresh and prepared in uniquely delicious ways. Particular stand-outs are the jyo maki rolls, shake (salmon), and unagi (fresh water eel). However the absolute star of the evening was a crabcake special. I am not sure if this is offered on a regular basis but if you come across it, treat your tastebuds and go for it! As for the sake, go for the premier ble... read more

Outstanding Sushi/Sashimi – I have never felt so comfortable nor had such a great meal than at Nishino. The fish is simply the freshest and the presentation is impecable. The sushi chefs are always happy to serve you with a smile and the slections of their specials are divine. They also have an incredible dessert which includes an outrageous orange chocolate chocolate chip cookie that is to die for. You will always feel welcome at Nishino.

Wonderful! – I've been to many sushi restaurants, but none as upscale as Nishino's. It's not the place for cheap sushi, but it's the place to go for "good eats"!

Great Japanese Food – Nishino is known for it's authentic Japanese dishes along with inspiring twists to this traditional cusine. Sushi (although exceptional) is not the main dish here. Good Japanese style food can be had at Nishino.

Amateurs need not apply! – Nishino is not the place to go if large & cheap are your criteria for evaluating sushi. The sushi chef there are the real deal - extensively trained in Japan and unwilling to compromise on quality. The fish are flown in daily from Japan, Alaska, etc. - wherever it is the best and in season. Given that, the prices there are reasonable. Sushi of such quality in Japan costs well over $200 per person. If I Love Sushi does it for you, then no need to bother. But if you are seeking one of the best, then ... read more

Overrated – I've heard how great this place is from numerous people. It also exudes an air of loftiness in its presentation. THis ain't a cheap sushi joint. The service was great actually...and kind of warm. The sushi was OK. A lot can be determined about a sushi place from a simple order: maguro and spicy tuna roll. THe maguro was fresh, but the portions were razor thin and see through. Typical of overpriced, "trendy" spots. The Spicy TUna Roll...Come on guys. YOu can do better than that...no effort. Looks identical to the ... read more
