Best Sushi in seattle – After an arduous tour of Seattle sushi, we found ourselves always longing for Nishino. The Sake choices are superb, and the sushi chefs are awesome. Masa, one of the head chefs, will make anything that you can imagine, and if you ask him to go to town and just get creative, he comes up with some amazing creations. Albeit a bit pricey, Nishino is comparable to most every other sushi place in c-town, which begs the question, why is there no sushi happy hour in Seattle. L.A. has Tsunami, which has great ... read more

A New Favorite! – Nishino quickly became a new favorite after I tried their omakase (chef's choice) dinner. It was a wonderful sampling of their dually authentic and adventurous menu. All items were fresh, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. Crowd favorites like toro and hamachi nigiri were complemented elegantly by seared foie gras with shiitake mushrooms and curry dusted halibut cheeks. If you want the real deal and are willing to pay a few extra dollars Nishino is a musty try!

Great Sushi, but TERRIBLE service – It was our first time at Nishino and we were so pleased when we tasted such delicious sushi! However, it had to have been some of the worst service ever. Our waiter only came to our table when he was served us, and several times we had to ask the bus people to get him, as well as my husband having to get up and get the water pitcher. Not only that, we ordered Toro and they brought us clam instead. I realize that they were quite busy, but it's quite upsetting to go to a "nice" place, only t... read more

One of the best in Seattle for Japanese – This is my favorite Japanese restaurant in Seattle. Prices are good for the quality of the food. 2 can eat well for around 50 - 70 dollars depending on what you order. Even the rice is super premium and you can taste the difference. Try the chawan mushi and black cod kasuzake. Sushi is great and we have never been disappointed here.

Service is Better than the Food. – I went to Nishino for the first time this week as part of the 25 for $25 promotion. I was impressed that they offered a wine pairing to go with each course for $9.50. I had the crab cake appetizer which was very good. The disappointment came when my entree arrived. I ordered the black cod and thought the dish tasted like burnt teriyaki. I tried to wash down the taste with the merlot that was paired with it, but the merlot brought out a distinct 'fishy' taste that lingered on my pallet. I de... read more

This place rocks. The quality of fish is unparalleled. The originality of the specials keeps me coming back week after week. It's probably the best sushi on the west coast... no kidding. The owner is super friendly.

Best Sushi in Seattle – I used to live in LA, and consider myself somewhat of a sushi snob. Nishino is the best sushi I have found in Seattle, and no wonder knowing that the chef comes from Matsuhisa in LA. The food is fantastic, if you can splurge for the Omakase experience (and aren't too afraid of trying new things) that is definitely the way to go. You will not be disappointed and will have an experience to talk about for some time. The fish is very fresh, the service is quick and friendly, and the creativity for all the... read more

A bit overrated – While the sushi at Nishino always seems to be fresh and the service is attentive, the rolls are small and overpriced. They charge $5.50 for edamame when most sushi restaurants offer this free of charge...kind of like chips and salsa at mexican or bread and butter at italian. Finally, while there were several vacant tables, we had to wait 15 minutes to be seated.
