Amazing sushi – Great sushi, great lunch bentos, sushi bar is fun and has wonderful sushi/sashimi! Authentic and moderately priced!
If you like traditional japanese food, you will like it – The Grilled Whole Squid and udon are excellent. Not many Japanese restaurants have the grilled whole squid. A must try. However, the portion of the sushi and sashimi is comparatively small. Sometime the service is very slow.
Great Sushi @ Great Prices – I think the one liner subject says it all. Great sushi @ great prices & good service. You can swing by on the weekends in the afternoon or at night during the weekdays/weekends (sit outside if it's pleasant). It's a casual place so you can go as you are (well almost)
Best sushi in town – Just to inform some people since July we have started closing on Mondays. but all other other days are open as usual. Tuesday - Sunday : 11:30am until 10:30pm. (Any group of people larger than 4 please call for reservation, would greatly appreciate it.) Quaint, unassuming, delicious, and worth it! – I love Nippon for its down to earth approach. As far as I know, they were the first sushi restaurant to set up shop in Houston. They favor authenticity over flashiness. These days sushi seems to be all about trendy after work hangouts for yuppies, but less than ten years ago it was much more about the kind of close, quiet, pleasant restaurant. Cheers, not Studio 54. A relaxing, enjoyable dining experience. – My boyfriend and I love coming to Nippon when we can't decide on a restaurant but both feel like Japanese food. It is so much more laid back than other Japanese restaurants- we don't feel strange showing up in jeans and a t shirt. Despite this, the food is always excellent, filling, and authentic. We rarely spend more than $30, even with alcohol, and are always satisfied.
One of the Best Eateries in Houston!!! – Best thing about this restaurant is that the food quality and preparation is always great... Staff is very friendly and Japanese... Beer is cold and sake and green tea are hot... green tea ice cream is wonderful... always meet and make new friends at the sushi bar... relaxed dinning experience... plan a show, 2-3 hour dinning experience... you will feel so very good when you leave...
Best Sushi in Houston – They have the best sushi in Houston. Been going here for years, and everytime we go to another sushi place, we always say "It's OK, but not as good as Nippon." My only complaint is it always seems to take a long time to get the bill when we're finished (although this is a common complaint of ours at many restaraunts). some of the best sushi in town!!! – incredible rolls, fried veggies were great, too. have the green tea ice cream after an enjoyable meal. service wasn't spectacular and the place was crowded, but the food makes it well worth it!
