The only thing harder than choosing from the reasonably priced, seasonal cuisine at the Night Light Lounge is choosing what you want to drink from their extensive and creative drinks menu. Injecting modern style into an otherwise relaxed atmosphere, the lounge has dark corners with velvet couches and original artworks. Between 3p and 7p, enjoy some of the best happy hour specials in Portland, with generous appetizers and Stella Artois on tap. Bring your laptop and take advantage of free Wi-fi. Seating is also available on th... read more

Shill City, Baby! – Honestly, I don't really care for the Nightlight one way or the other. Just another in the cookie-cutter mold of "hip" bars that the "creative class" of this burg visit. OK at times, obnoxious at many others. Best jukebox in Portland? I think not--unless your idea of "good" is the same lame indie rock, irony picks, and smattering of obvious country and hip-hop CD's that every other bar of the ilk has. If it is, lemming, then naturally, it's great! Main reason to post has to be to support another's mention... read more
did you just write lemming? – I love this place! Those reviews on the staff being rude are way off base. I moved here a couple years ago, and not knowing anyone, went to the Nightlight and was welcomed warmely. I go there all the time, and while you can always find something wrong with every place, its definitely fun and cozy. Accusing a restaurant of "spitting" on your food with no proof is childish and I would guess you have these problems often at other bars/restaurants. I personally know several of the staff and I gauran... read more
Love this place – I visited Night Light the other night for my bday. Even though they were out of a few things on their menu, the service and atmosphere made up for it. It's so cute and the lighting is perfect. I don't know what you mean about rude wait staff because our waiter bought me a drink and hung out with us when he finished closing everyone out. The bartender was also very friendly and I was with a group of about 10 and we ordered alot of drinks. Everything about this place rocked and I will be back soon. It was a g... read more
Great, easy spot to hang out – I'm shocked that this place has gotten any bad reviews. I go to Night Light frequently and have had great service, great drinks and tasty food. I recommend this place to everyone...
Agree with the HORRENDOUS service – I was here several weeks ago, but not by choice because I had been here before and wasn't really thrilled by the place. Anyway someone else got my first drink and things were all fine. I went up to the bar for the second round. It took awhile for the bartender to come over but granted it was crowded. I ordered a few rum and cokes. He gave me the drinks, took my card, and I told him I wanted to close now. He then started to help other customers. After 5 minutes of yelling for him he came ov... read more
Absolutely pathetic – I just had to say something after reading the recent reviews, since it seems rather clear that theyr'e FAKE. Look at the dates. Until recently, the average time between reviews was something like four months. Then last month, just a couple days after my friend gave them a bad review on 4/24, calling them "horrendous", among other things, they somehow managed to get FOUR 5-STAR REVIEWS IN TWO DAYS, and one more review within those two days of 3-stars, even though it reads like a cheesy 5-star review.. I should directly deposit my paycheck to the NL – Where can you go to rub elbows with tattooed cuties and business men alike? Why the NL of course. This popular Southeast destination attracts patrons of all kinds, proving that variety is in fact the spice of night-life. With low lighting, copper-topped tables and rotating art shows, this bar is a unique blend of comfortable and cool, with a touch of swank. Seating is your choice of chair, booth, couch or barstool, with outdoor tables on the sidewalk and brand new back patio.... read more
Favorite Portland bar - love the bartenders! – one of my all time favorite bars in the city! i love trying new places, but i end up here time and time again because i know i'll get great drinks and friendly service from the bartenders, yummy food, good people watching (and meeting), comfy booths, scattergories - i could go on and on. gotta love the bartender/waiter with the handlebar mustache, though - a classic portland guy. he's got great stories, even better advice, and always makes me laugh, not to mention he mixes a mea... read more
Kickin joint – I've been making this place my haunt for the past year, and I can say that it's ALWAYS happening. In fact, it's regularly jam-packed. And not only are the servers and bartenders warm and welcoming, they make it a point to get to know the regulars. In my opinion, this speaks volume about customer service. The jukebox ROCKS. In fact, I believe it was voted best jukebox in Portland in Willamette Week--and if it wasn't, it should be! Finally, the staff is totally hot, which doesn't hurt. BAM.
