Had a break in and theft, neighbors were frequently loud 4-6am (very thin walls and floors), and had privacy concerns. The building manager is nice, but the management company is pretty hard to deal with. They made a fuss about you have to fill out a form to move out, were not polite, and were no help when I was broken in to. AC was out because they had to 'clean the filters' ie they didn't want to turn it on to save money.
Would not recommend. The location and price are great but the management company, Quantum Management, is unfair and unethical. Our AC was out for a week during one of the hottest weeks in July. No compensation, or accommodations were offered during this time and they are doing everything they can not to make it right. I was displaced from my house during the week, with little communication as for long it would be. They have failed to make it right and just made it worse. I've lived in other great areas of DC before moving into Newton Towers in Columbia Heights. To say this is a great deal of a place is an understatement. I moved in initially intending on only staying one year. However, given that this area is fantastically growing, exciting, convenient, and safe - I fell in love. I moved to Newton Towers almost six years ago. When i came to DC to look at apartments this was in a great location in Columbia Heights very close to shopping, grocery, restaurants and entertainment, as well as Metro transportation. Everything is so accessible and convenient to get to. Living at Newton Towers was a very safe, memorable and positive experience as its well maintained and most importantly Apartment building Manager Adriano is incredible. This was a great first apartment for my wife and me. The building manager was attentive, the neighbors were friendly, and the building was clean, secure, and had everything we needed. And you can't beat the price for the location!
