thank you for opening ...the wait was well worth it – i was so happy to see new york pizzeria opened for business, after the storm. being home with no power for days, was no fun. a friend of mine told me that new york pizzeria was opened, we got there and waited an hour to place our order, i ordered two large villiage pizza for me and my family the total bill was 40.00 flat, not bad for the works. there register was not working, they were operating on a generator.. with dim lights, when the pizza came to our table , we were s... read more
Shockingly bad customer service – While in town for business we walked from our hotel to the Gray Street area to find somewhere for a relaxing dinner. The outside of New York Pizzeria is inviting. They have tables lining the sidewalks. It looked to be the perfect place for a glass of wine and dinner. Everything was fine until we actually placed our order. We asked for a wine list. There is an entire wall taken up with wines. However, we were presented with a plastic card holder containing a limited choice. We ordered our win... read more
Hurrican Ike overcharging – On September 16, 2008, we ordered pizza from NY Pizzeria. at Westheimer and Chimney Rock . They were charging $20 for a $14 pizza. We complained that the prices were higher than normal and Anthony (owner) said tough sh!t and that we should be happy to just have the food. He also said he doesn't care and we should never come back. Anthony was insolent, selfish and rude. Fellow Houstonians, we will never go back there, I urge you to do the same.
Business response:
Dear 6861501, We did not overcharge our valued customers. Our computers were not working because of the power outage so we could not use our cash registers, we were short handed, we had no change because the banks were closed, and we could not take credit cards. Here is a comparison between our regular price and the "IKE SPECIAL": - 12? PIZZAS: 3 toppings menu price = $16.45+tax Specialties menu price = $13.95 to $15.95+tax IKE SPECIAL = $13.86+tax ($15) ANY WAY YOU WANT IT - 16? PIZZAS: 3 toppings menu price = $19.80+tax Sp... read more
Best in Houston – We order from the Galleria location. The pizza is GREAT every time!!! The restaurant is always clean, the staff is friendly and even when we had Friday night delivery the wait wasn't bad at all. Definately reccommend!
This ain't NY Pizza - It's Sysco Pizza – Just finished another try at NY Pizzeria in Houston. Have tried several of their locations. The Westheimer location still seems to make okay pizza but my experience today at the Holcombe store couldn't hold a candle to store bought frozen pie. This has been my experience at other NY Pizzeria locations outside of the Westheimer store. Today I tried a slice of meatball and jalapeno. The meatballs had been crushed up into large chunks, sort of like sausage but larger. They had absolutely... read more
good grub – I usually never leave reviews but after reading the negative comments left I had to write one myself. I really dont care for pizza much because commercial pizza companies make nasty pizza to me. (pizza hut, domino's, papa john) however new pizzeria is by far one of the best pizzas i've eaten. I also like the frozen pizza made by walmart (next to the place they serve food not the freezer isle), and incrdible pizza also has tasty pizza. those three are my top picks..try em all!!
Best NY-style pie in Houston! I dare you to compare – As a professed pizza connoiseur, I have scoured Houston looking for the best pie in town. Call it an obsession, but I call it a passion. I hate paying for bad food, especially in this town that has so much to offer. I have eaten at low end and high end eateries offering a variety of pizza. If you're looking for fantastic northeast/NY-style pie, this is the place. This is not shishi arugla with pear gourmet pie (ala Dolce Vita or DaMarco), this is down-home thin crust pizz... read more

Originally from Miami, I've been in Houston for seventeen years and Russo's New York Pizzeria is by far the only restaurant I have found where they actually serve authentic New York Pizza. It's delicious!
