As Restaurant – As a restaurant New Wave is average. the BBQ sandwich was lost...no sauce and meat was okay. Chef should go to Phoebe's for a lesson. Burgers were good but not on par with the Standard Tap. Entrees were definitely overpriced. Other than that, everything was fine. I might go there more often if I lived there but it's not worth going out of yoru way for (unless you live on the Main Line where good food and service is the exception and not the rule).
My neighborhood bar – The New Wave has been my neighborhood bar for at least five years and I go there at least once a week, often more frequently. I love the staff and I think the food is great. It just has that certain something that makes it a great neighborhood bar--there's always someone to talk to, the drinks are reasonable and the service is great. I've moved around the world and I've been to a lot of bars and I've liked a lot of them, but I think the Wave will always be my favorite.
Once is not enough – Great place to eat, drink, and be seen. A nice crowd, sports on the tube, and music too.
