Went in for my 5th tattoo at New Rose. Xavier has done 4 and Carrie did one. Love this shop and will always let Xavier work his magic. They are accommodating and helpful and always tell you honestly what is best to get the most out of your tattoo. They even work around special occasion tattoos and my out of town friend's weird schedules. Love love love!
My artist was Erica Kraner and she did a beautiful job. This was my first tattoo and it only hurt a little, she offered me plenty of opportunities to move and take a break if I needed to and kept me aware of what to expect so the experience was very smooth and comfortable. She drew me an Atlas Moth and I am so happy with it. Everyone I've dealt with at this shop to schedule and while I was getting my tattoo was friendly and kind. These are swell folks and great artists.
At 63 years of age I decided to get my first tattoo by the artist that my niece had been going to. I was really scared this was going to hurt alot and I wouldn't be able to do it. Artist Xavier Darling was sooo good. His design for me was exactly as I had envisioned. No pain and only the slightest discomfort. I was so surprised! I love my tattoo and am already contemplating a second one.
Nice shop, laid back atmosphere. Xavier was detail oriented and very patient as we worked to figure out just how my wrap around should look. Thank you!!
Came in 20 minutes before they closed expecting to be rejected, because c'mon closing time, but they were super friendly and easy to work with!! It was my very first time getting a tattoo, I knew exactly what I wanted. Two small words "stay humble". It came out perfect and my tattoo artist was super awesome and made me feel very comfortable! New Rose Tattoo is the best around! I have been getting tattooed by Mikal for almost 10years. I moved to New York and still come back to the best shop in Portland. Mikal's art is so beautiful it is an honor to have it on my body. I look forward to visiting Mikal and New Rose every time I am in Portland. Not to mention, everyone at the shop is so friendly and welcoming. Everyone here has their own unique style and I love seeing everything that they create. Talented artists, rad welcoming atmosphere, knowledgeable staff!
