LOVE LOVE LOVE Nemours in Jacksonville! Two of my children see docs there (spread over several different clinics), and we are very happy. We live a long way from the clinic (approximately 1.5 hour drive), but it's worth the trip for the care they receive. I'm an RN, and VERY protective of who provides care to my children, and Nemours continually manages to impress my husband and me. Not an easy task. I've also recommended Nemours to other friends whose children have needed to see a specialist or seek a second opinion.
My six year old grandson has autism and has a hard time with any medical procedure. He loves his doctor, PA and nurses. They make him feel comfortable and safe.
Wonderful place, I can't say enough good things about everyone we have dealt with here.
TOO BIG TO CARE. The bureaucracy and red tape associated with this clinic is dehumanizing. We have had two children seek care at Nemours, one on an ongoing basis for a chronic illness and another for a specific need. Our experiences have been in more than one clinic, but the same every where and every time. The only reason I gave them two stars instead of one is because the doctors and nurses are actually very good! I don't think highly of Nemours despite coming highly recommended. They don't take insurance for anxiety/ADHD testing so initial assessment is roughly $2500 and then would have to wait 6 months for an appointment.
